The Kansas Sunflower Chapter of the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) is offering a Manager of Landfill Operations (MOLO) training course this year on Sunday, September 29th through Tuesday, October 1st in Mulvane, Kansas.  The exam for the course will be scheduled in the morning on Wednesday, October 2nd.  Training location: Kansas Star Conference Center, 777 Kansas Star Drive, Mulvane, Kansas.

NOTE: The annual Kansas Solid Waste Management Conference and Operator Training Course hosted by the Kansas SWANA Sunflower Chapter and KDHE will be held on October 1-3, 2019 at the same location as the MOLO training (Kansas Star Conference Center, Mulvane, Kansas).   

The Manager of Landfill Operations course provides a comprehensive study of efficient landfill operations, including site design, compliance with regulations, and issues to consider when planning, operating, and closing landfills.

Course Objectives

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the scope of landfill importance, purpose, characteristics, design, equipment and compliance with regulations;
  • Manage daily operational procedures;
  • Improve landfill safety;
  • Understand construction and surveying practices;
  • Implement and manage effective monitoring systems;
  • Maximize your site's administration; and
  • Improve efficiency and control costs.


Who Should Attend?

This course is intended for landfill owners, operators, managers, supervisors, foremen, as well as engineers and employees responsible for daily landfill operation.
